Being preggers in Singapore :)

The most common questions I received from friends and family back in Indonesia since they know I got pregnant are:

Are you going to deliver in Singapore?

Who will take care of your baby?

How to survive living in Singapore with kids and without a maid?

It's expensive to have kids in Singapore, you know that, right?

Ermm..maybe for Singapore friends that reading this entry, you might raise your eyebrow and " HUH-ing " about those questions, yes indeed - I want to tell you that back in Indonesia, some people (or at least) my big family and some friends thinks living in Singapore is way more complicated than living a comfortable life in Indonesia. 

I know some of you - my friend -curious about my life here but to proud to ask how am I doing so far here in Singapore, and you secretly reading this blog..but here, I need to tell you that when I made my choice to live in Singapore 7 years ago, I have made the one of the best decision in my life. 

I came here to Singapore as a fresh grads, and thank God..I could get a job within the first month on my stays in Singapore - I didn't get a job through recommendation or a short cut to the company, I earned it on my own - and at that time until today I am proud to be in the job in Singapore, and very grateful to have a chance  in living independently on my own.

Since then, I pretty much do things on my own from washing my clothes, dishes, taking public transport and going to places without counting on someone to send me off. I am happy and although sometimes back in my mind I miss to be at home and have someone to get the things done for me, but I never regretted my stays here in Singapore.

So, when those questions came to me..I realised that I've been so get used to Singapore style of living and not taking note on those issue asked above. I always think that if most lady in Singapore could cope up with baby and life here in Singapore, why can't I?

I believe when I try my best, the Man Up there is going to open the way for me. 

But yes, it is less comfortable than being preggers back at home, maybe? I don't know.

But if you are talking about the comfort of having cars and driver to send you go and back from work, yes it is indeed more comfortable than taking mrt or bus in Singapore, because nobody care about..

You will found mostly non elderly, non preggers, non commuters with child and non disabled sitting on the priority seat suddenly fall asleep when they see me getting in the train, OR usually they suddenly get very busy on their phone and pretend that they never see me.

If you are that kind of commuters - SHAME ON YOU!

I do hope if you are pregnant someday/your wife is expecting..no one will give up their seat too.

But apart from the comfortable issue, I think I am ok being preggie in Singapore.
At least I am far away from the noisy auntie that keep telling me the myth of pregnancy :D

So as of now, yes..I will be delivering in Singapore, my Mom / my MIL will come and help me with the baby - So far no plan in hiring maid or nanny permanently and yes I know it's expensive to have baby in Singapore, and we are ready for it. I believe everything happens for a reason and this is for the best :)

                       

Do God apologize?

I am a Christian - not a good one.

I believe in Jesus Christ by faith - but I do think with my head too..and that is why I call myself not a good Christian. Coz they said a good christian should live by faith right?
I judge people that bring Christianity on the table but acting like one selfish human being. And I am totally wrong for not being a humble and good Christian. But at least, I realized that and not acting holy as some people does.

Belon pernah istilahnya " tuh kan Tuhan, gw bener and You are wrong! " 

lalu kepo dong gw, click ke link youtube yang dibawah ini..dan gw agak agak shock karena si tuan pastor ini ngotbahin kalo God minta maap sama dia for going through rough time ALONE.

 Dan juga 8 bulan terakhir ini dia kena kasus penggelapan duit gereja karena dipake untuk ngebiaya-in karir artis istrinya yang sampe heboooh gila di SG - belon terbukti itu bener ato engga si karena case nya belon kelar juga. Tapi ga mungkin ada asep kalo ga ada api bukan?

Ini purely pendapat gw yah, kalo ada yang ga setuju..ya sok sana, anda punya pendapat - saya pun juga. Dan saya tidak rasis terhadap agama2 laen juga ya.

28 weeks and counting..

 Hello :)

Just a quick update on my 28 Weeks journey with this little bundle of joy!

We have finally picked the name for the Baby, but we are still call the baby as " Baby " whenever we talk to him. So far, I am glad that my Mr. has been really supportive and enthusiast in preparing the new born :) and weirdly he knows more things about baby stuff than I do - but he keep repeating the same annoying hint that he won't take care of the dirty diapers.  Blah!

Baby inside been responding cutely to us as well, whenever Mr. poked my tummy to wake him up and calling his name - most of the time he will poked him back in the same spot, and they keep poking each other until I start yelling or until the baby is tired in responding. :P

 I have gained 11 kg so far. 

My doctor said the baby is over weight and I will be doing Glucose test next Friday to find out of my diabetic level. I do hope I won't be getting into this kind of stupid sugar thingy in my body.

It grows pretty big by now.
And weirdly, it started to grow like mad only on my 26 weeks onward.

Thank Goodness I have no stretchmarks so far :)
But my under arm and inner thigh turns really dark! Like I never scrub myself for ages.
And also, my skin tags is growing rapidly around my neck area. It's not so noticeable but pretty annoying for my eyes.

So, yeah..Will update again once I know the result of my next week test.

Bumil mo update!

Yaoloo cepet banget yah..tau tau eke dah 7 bulan aja bunting..bentar lagi count down untuk brojolan.

Berat so far naek 11 kg - Pengsan deh gw. 

Kenapa pula ini body setelah lewat bulan ke 6.5 naeknya ga pake permisi bo, bikin gw senewenan ajee.

Badan tuh jadi bener bener berasa tambah berat ya - yaeyaaalah yaa! Kaki mulai gendut gendut..sendi sendi sudah sakit selalu dan otot perut gw rasanya ketarik abis! OMG lah, masi 3 bulan to go..badan gw dah banyak keluhan. Gimana coba?

So far, yang masi baik baik saja adalah muka gw! Puji Tuhan ga ikutan bengkak seperti bagian body laen.

Gw masi bisa jualan muka di blog..hahaha..dan juga kolaborasi bikin make up tutorial yang nanti eke publish kalo editannya dah jadi..*soalnya buka eke yang edit seh*

Aku terlihat ayu dan sangat berbeda yah? Malem sebelon filming ini dong, gw dempul muka tebel tebel pake SK II dan alhasil paginya glowing cui.

Oh lalu, aku lagi suka minuman ini..tapi ga tau namanya..pokonya asem2 manis kayak sour plum tapi pake kulit jeruk kering gitu. Apa yah namanya?

Dan tentu saja hobi masak sama makan makanan rumah tetep lanjut..padahal cuma simple food kayak gini buat makan berdua sama si abang, tapi kok gw berasanya yummy banget yaaa.

Ini highlight dinner kemaren, gw bikin kukus cod fish fillet, dikasih sesame oil, kecap asin en lada doang.
Trus sprinkle Leek di atasnya dan di alas tahu jepang dibawah ikannya. Dan jadinya sungguh enak sekaleee..kelar makan tumben bener si abang meper mulut nyium sambil bilang " Thank you honey "

Oh trus, ini kejadian tadi pagi..agak aneh si ini embak - sebutlah namanya Nunung.
Jadi si Nunung ini, embak embak yang tinggal di Batam en suka ke Singapore buat massage-in ibu ibu gitu disini secara tarifnya cuman $30-$35. Gw ga pernah masage sama si nunung ini, tapi kakaknya nunung pernah bantu gw bersih bersih rumah..dan terakhir kira2 bulan April - gw spring cleaning dan si kakak gw hibahin baju baju gw sampe 2 tas gede. Lalu sudah itu, si kakak ga pernah kembali lagi ke SG untuk kerja.

Kira2 beberapa hari yang lalu, gw dapet no Indo sms gw " Bu, besok Nunung ke SG " ya udah, gw cuekin dong ya..orang lg bunting gini, mo massage gimana coba?

Lalu, 2 hari lalu si Nunung ini sms lagi dong - bilang uda sampe. Bisa dia tiap nyampe pasti ngontekin orang orang yang ada di list dia, dan terakhir dia ngabarin gw May tuh, dan gw cuman bilang makasih da ngabarin - tapi gw tetep ga pernah booking sama dia.

Dan tadi pagi dong, HP gw tiba2 bunyi..dan gw liat " NUNUNG?? "
Apa apaan seh ini orang? Kenapa sampe nelpon segala? nelponnya pagi bener pula jam 1/2 9, dan karena gw hari ini lagi ga enak badan..gw work from home, dan jam 1/2 9 itu masih di ranjang cui.



Trus dong ga lama, sms gw bunyi lagi..dia bilang " Udah di depan lift bu ",
hoi lift sapeee? Gw booking aja engga loh. Jadi merasa terganggu deh saya.

Dan beberapa jam kemudian..interkom apartemen gw bunyi, dan gw cuekin dong..trus ga lama, pintu rumah gw di ting tong ting tong en pintu gw digedor gedor. Entah sapa! Tapi gw harep bukan si Nunung ini, karena kalo iyah..si males abis loh. Sampe serem sendiri loh gw tadi di rumah.
Aneh aneh aja ni.

Review: John Frieda Frizz Ease my hair!

I actually have a very simple hair regime at home, it goes as simple as shampoo + hair mask (every alternate day) and the leave on conditioner to keep my permed hair in place.

So far it works for me and I already think my hair is fine :P

But when I was offered to do review on the full range of John Frieda Frizz Ease collection, I was pretty excited to know how well could this products do to my hair.

So, I've been using it for almost 2 weeks now and I would say I love it.

You've gotta try it yourself and proof what I said here.

Ok- first are the shampoo and the conditioner set that I suggest you to use to soften the frizz hair texture, although I would say nothing so WOW about the shampoo and the conditioner - but it definitely better than the normal harsh shampoo. Shampoo ($15.90) and Conditioner ($15.90).

I like this styling spray in giving me non sticky and never crispy kind a curl look.

As simple as just spray this product generously from roots to ends.

Then I scrunch small sections of hair gently to help create waves or style it with blow drier 

If you do have a frizzy hair and nothing works so far on you, maybe you can give this range a shot.
It's pretty affordable and so far, I am liking it - I hope you are too.

You know, this is weird..I've been trying to write about today's event..and in fact, I've been looking at the picture for more than 10 mins and looking at the press release while wondering what should I write and tell people about today's event. But I would like to share with you that today is more than just a beauty event I attended - It's about supporting and raising awareness to create safer, more positive environments for children with Autism.

In House Cooking: Homemade Bakso Goreng (fried ball)

After I posted this on my Instagram, many of you have asked the recipe for this yummy homemade friend ball. Or in Indonesia, we call it " Bakso Goreng ".

Hell yeah it's yummy and surprisingly easy to make.

I took the recipe from my friend VENY from enak enak lovers and omg! It's yummy.
(Although I haven't perfected the round ball shape yet, but Mr. said this dish is yummy)

500 gr minced pork/chicken
500 gr minced prawn .
350 gram tapioca starch
5 eggs
3 spoon fish sauce
Salt and pepper to taste
1 tea spoon of sugar

Serve it with hot steam rice or just as a snack :)

Wollaaa..I'm finally blogging about the almost 2 weeks ago Singapore Blog Awards 2013 Final!

I knoooow..it's totally late! I've been busy with baby stuff and been travelling back to Jakarta to do shopping for baby stuff. It's pretty much 1/2 of the price in Singapore, and we got a cheap return flight by Tiger air - So off to home we went.

And before I am showing a little photos of me keep holding the awards in my hand, I just want to

that voted for me again this year, supporting me all this while, and keep reading my blog.

Me and Mr. arrived late, and when I entered Shanghai Dolly..I have to rushed in because somebody told me that I need to be inside like NOW!! I was like..ha? oh ok! I almost run with my 6 months preggie belly rushing in to where the event at - thank God I still remember I am pregnant.

At the moment I stepped in to the event area, I saw the MC is announcing the Best Beauty Blog category start by naming all the finalist, then mentioned my name as one of the WINNER. That happened too fast and I am still stood there and thinking that good things can't be happening twice - but hell YES! I made it again!

I'm happy that this year I (again) won Singapore Best Beauty Blog 2013 together with Karen and Elaine.

It's another year of fun and another year of awesome exposure for me and my lovely blog

To be honest, I seriously didn't expect that I will have the title again for the second time, but the best of all - I had fun this year in making friends and being a part of Singapore Beauty Blogsphere. And even, when one day I move out to another country - my blogging life in Singapore is definitely one of the things that I will miss so much.

Second of all, they asked me:

What do I think of things that makes a good beauty blogger?

I would say being yourself and always be honest about what you write is important. 

People that read your blog would like to know the genuine review that maybe magazine or advertisement didn't give them. So even it is a paid advertorial about products - still be honest! If you don't like the product and if it's not a good product, don't write it as if it's the best product you ever found just because you get paid. Tell the advertiser the truth - if they don't like it..just withdraw the contract, if they respect your opinion - that will be the win - win solution. 

Oh yes I know, when $$ is involved things are slightly hard to negotiate.

But hey, if you want to be a trusted beauty blogger by your readers and future awesome advertiser, you need to let them know that your opinion is yours and can't be bought.
