[Beauty Review] My Power Duo by Kiehl's

I am 30 and I am start to worry about my skin plumpness, maybe I am vain..but maybe it's because of the fact that when we start to age, our skin lost it's moisture, and start creating fine line together with losing it's youthful texture. I am pretty tempted to get a little jab to instantly plumping the unwanted line, but on a second thought..For now, I prefer a non-needle treatment to help my skin. It is just in time when I found Kiehl’s Hydro-Plumping Re-Texturizing Serum Concentrate.

Kiehl’s Hydro-Plumping Re-Texturizing Serum Concentrate, was inspired by Dermatologist anti-aging hydration procedures, such as Juvederm® Hydrate, and is formulated with a potent complex of Plant-based glycerin - a natural “moisture magnet” and Shiso Leaf Extract, which helps protects the “anchoring” of deep moisture into the skin’s surface layers. This innovation, formulated after 29 trials, has been validated with excellent anti-aging hydration results sustained over a 72-hour period and skin penetration testing up to 10 layers in the Stratum Corneum.

This is a plant-based glycerin within the formula works in three key ways:

1. Glycerin is a “moisture magnet” and pulls essential moisture into skin
Plant-based glycerin is a time-tested, renowned skincare ingredient known for its highly efficacious hydrating benefits.

While some forms of glycerin are synthetic, the glycerin used in Kiehl’s Hydro-Plumping Re-Texturizing Serum Concentrate is plant-based, derived from sources such as palm fruit, rapeseed & coconut. It is hygroscopic, which means it absorbs water from the environment into the skin.

2. Glycerin facilitates healthy epidermal barrier function
Plant-based glycerin is naturally occurring and highly compatible with skin. Not only does it pull water into skin—it goes a step further, creating a ‘reservoir effect’ enhancing the water holding capacity of the skin, helping to promote skin elasticity and facilitating healthy epidermal barrier function.

3. Glycerin and its channeling within the skin is critical for proper hydration
Aquaporin channels play an important role in facilitating the passage of water and glycerin. In aging skin, levels of aquaporins are decreased, which can contribute to the increased incidents of dehydration with age. Glycerin is one of the key molecules, along with water, that is transported through aquaporin channel (the most abundant aquaporin channel in the epidermis). Functioning aquaporins allow more water to flow in and out of cells. Glycerin has been found to help facilitate the transportation process and diffusion of essential hydration throughout different levels of skin’s surface layers.

Shiso Leaf Extract:

In young skin, Hyaluronic Acid is present in both the dermis and epidermis. In aging skin, less hyaluronic acid is present in the epidermis, making the remaining hyaluronic acid still present in the epidermal layer even more important to protect, ensuring the skin’s health and functionality. In-vitro data shows that Shiso Leaf Extract helps protect against the degradation of Hyaluronic Acid that naturally occurs in skin by decreasing the activities of hyaluronidase enzymes, helping to anchor moisture where skin needs it most. Within the formula, Shiso Leaf Extract helps “anchor” moisture deep in the skin’s surface layers and is clinically demonstrated to help correct the signs of age-related dehydration.

I use the combination of Kiehl’s Hydro-Plumping Re-Texturizing Serum Concentrate with Ultra Facial Cream - Intense Hydration. This new formulation provides improved 24 hour hydration and leaves skin looking visibly smoother.

And you know what? Nothing could be better than having a well hydrated skin every morning, and you can already feel the difference in 7 days! This combination works for winter too :)

Try it to believe it! I never found a power duo treatment like these 2!
Super love it!
